Before we get started with diet and fitness there are a few definitions we should clear up.
Diet is referring to the type or category of food that you consume. Your diet consists of this type and that kind of food. Your diet changes from day to day.
Fitness is a term that refers to a level of muscular tone. You become fit as your muscular system builds and repairs itself. It may not have anything to do with diet or health. The term fitness is found in the gym.
You can influence your fitness through your diet, but you cannot influence your diet through fitness.
To become fit is important but to consume a healthy diet is paramount. Don't confuse the terms. There are a lot of fit people who are terribly unhealthy. But a person with an excellent, healthy diet is going to most likely show a good health index.
